The whole property is powered using 100% renewable energy sourced from the estate’s small scale hydro electric plant and is the perfect option for eco-conscious travellers with all water sourced directly from a local spring.

Things to Do
In and Around the Monzie Estate
Burnside Cottage is located just a few miles from the town of Crieff. Here you’ll find a number of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping.
Crieff is also home to the Highland games during the month of August. The area offers a great deal of outdoor activities.
Golf is available at several courses in the area including the Gleneagles Golf Courses. We are ideally suited for fishing holidays as there are several rivers in the area including the Tay and the Earn.

“I was lucky enough to stay at Burnside Cottage on the Monzie Estate, and it was one of my most enjoyable stays in Scotland ever. The cottage was beautifully finished and decorated. It’s situated by the river at the bottom of a hill, and was so quiet and peaceful, and the walks and runs around the hills were gorgeous. I drove an electric car there, and the EV charger was very handy – there’s a charger just on the side of the cottage. The estate is all hydropowered and sustainably-focused too. The personal touches from a family who obviously care very much about their home and heritage and giving back to nature were abundant throughout.

“Absolutely loved our stay at Monzie! Unfortunately the weather didn’t plan ball but, it made the cottage feel all the more cosy and homely. We made full use of the beautiful kitchen and the delicious complementary brownies and wine. Had a slow stroll around the estate and listened to the babbling brook from the warm interior. Communication from host was excellent, super sized bed was lovely and comfortable and the giant bathtub was well worth the soaking time. Would definitely be back again! ”
